James Price Point 2011 Blockade photographs
(above) A gruelling job for a young woman seeing the unhappiness around her.
(above) Unlike Neville Ripp, the other police weren't trying to be unkind. The order had come from the Premier to get the earthmoving machines through, and they were here to uphold the law.
(above) Clever Janet Cox. She wore the correct hat and necklace. She'd encountered the police many times before and knew how to respond.
(above) Others had turned up on the big day to grab the television publicity, but Janet Cox had been here nearly every day, and on this day she wasn't even talking.
(above) Notice the yellow taser. And the absence of the rough and tough indigenous men. It was mostly women and old white men who defied the police.
(above) Janet appeared to be in a coma, but was wide awake and listening and watching everything.
(above) If the mature woman is the prisoner's mother, she would be proud of her daughter.
